[Ivy's letter box is pretty standard and white, though a plant seems to have taken residence in the box. Should one open it and place anything inside, vines from the plant will reach out and gingerly take the letter before carefully depositing it inside.]

I'm being forced to get rid of my rose bush because Perdita is a bitch. Will you take it in? I can't think of a better home for it and refuse to just let the maids take it away.

That is extremely unfortunate. Though I will be glad to take your plant off your hands. Once I get something of a greenhouse for myself, you can freely visit your plant if you wish.

I don't think I'd be pleasant company right now. Maybe after I workout. I find I'm in a better mood after a real good sweat.

Do you have time later today for a slightly business-related visit? I wish to know if something is within your expertise.

And I'd like to visit my rose bush.

You're more than welcome to come see me in my nursery. I've actually relocated your rose there so she can benefit from a larger environment beyond her pot. Come visit me soon.

[And true to her word, Juri showed up after lunch, a pair of tropical mango smoothies from somewhere in town with her. This was the first time she'd been in the nursery, so she was quite curious.]

Pam?

[Pamela appears, her head lifting above a berry bush that she was busy grooming.]

One second, Juri.

[She disappears for a little while longer before finally stepping fully into view.]

How are you?

[angelicreation]

[Juri occupied herself with taking a look around without wandering much until the other woman appeared.]

I'm doing well. I saw your booth at the festival. I hope business was profitable.

[toxic_love]

Just enough to make it worth my time.

[She offers a smile and looks at the treat she brought with her.]

You didn't need to do that, Juri.

[angelicreation]

And yet, I did. [She handed the one over to Pam and took a sip of her own.] How's my rose doing?

[toxic_love]

[She took it and sniffed the contents before taking a sip of it as well.]

Thanks, and your rose is doing fine.

[She beckons Juri to follow where she brings her rose over to a section of the nursery where it didn't sit alone, but it had a section to grow to an appropriate size.]

[angelicreation]

[Juri smiled, seeing the rose doing well, and reached out to very briefly brush her fingers against a bloom. She wasn't one to talk to plants - it always felt silly to her - so her words weren't actually for the rose bush.]

Beautiful. It'll grow much bigger here than it would've had I been able to keep it. Thank you again.

[A sip of her smoothie and Juri turned from the rose back to Ivy.]

I'm interested in whether you are capable of concocting a certain kind of potion that is only found in speculative fiction of my world, but apparently exists in others.

A truth serum.

[She maintains her composure well in the face of such a question. Ivy sets down the smoothie so she doesn't crush the container and looks thoughtful.]

...Truth serum? In theory something like that could be made.

[A pause as she regards Juri with new light. What exactly did she want with such a thing.]

Why were you looking for a truth serum?

[angelicreation]

I have a few business ventures in this city, Doctor. To further them and my own interests, I need to loosen a few tongues. And some are more resistant than others to more... traditional means.

[Juri glanced down at her nails.] And I'd rather not use violence to get what I want. A few drops of such a thing - if it indeed does exist - would go a long, long way.

And I'd rather not ask the Maeve for such a thing.

[Even though the witches have already given her some. She wanted to know if it could be produced without them, and was exploring several avenues to get what she wanted.]

[toxic_love]

[Ivy folds her arms across her chest while she appears thoughtful. She has to tread very cautiously, given that she would not want to take her advantages and spread them around to others that might use them against her if given the opportunity.]

Right this moment? I don't have anything like that. Give me time though and I can see if I can't put together a formula.

[angelicreation]

I didn't expect you to have some on a shelf somewhere. I'm a patient woman when I need to be.

[Juri smiled and took another sip of her smoothie.]

But I would appreciate you seeing if you could produce such a thing. I'll, of course, reimburse you any research expenses.

And this project will only stay between you and I.

[None of the various people she's gone to about making truth serum were aware of each other. Juri was trying many avenues to get what she wanted.]

[There's a meaningful pause as Ivy steps closer to one of her plants, and begs it's leaves and branches towards her.]

Juri... I hope you realize the ramifications of what you're doing here. Not just forcing the truth out of others against their will, but involving others in it as well.

I like to have options available to me. I prefer to get my information through other means, but there are people in this city that I don't have the luxury of playing nice with. This is something of a last resort, and unfortunately, I don't have the means to produce it myself.

[Juri watched the plant move with mild curiosity.]

If you wish nothing to do with this, just say so. I won't hold it against you. Not everyone wants to tangle with the darker aspects of this world.
